LOCAL OUTREACH

LOCAL OUTREACH

  • A committee oversees distribution of parish's annual tithe which locally has assisted the Ophelia Project, Faith Inn, A Safe Place, the Salvation Army, the Warren State Hospital Indigent Patient Fund and the Warren County Jail Ministry.

  • Our small food pantry of non-perishable food is stocked by donations from parishioners as well as from our outreach budget.  The food is distributed to those who call indicating need.

  • Holiday Meals: Food baskets are prepared and distributed to more than a 1000 people in need the weekend before Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Hot, home-cooked meals are delivered to more than 200 shut-ins in Warren and Forest Counties on Holy Saturday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

  • A.A. Meetings are held in our parish hall on Tuesday at 8:00 pm and on Thursday at 12:00 pm & 8:00 pm

  • Al-Anon Meeting is held in our parlor on Thursday at 8:00pm.
  • N.A. Meetings are held in our parlor on Wednesday and Friday at 12:00 pm

GREATER COMMUNITY

  • Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse.  Parishioners fill shoe box size containers with toys, school & health supplies.  Boxes are collected locally, sent to North Carolina to be distributed to needy children in the United States and overseas.
  • Funds have also assisted Second Harvest Food Bank and Virginia Theological Seminary.
